Missouri sports betting is set to launch on Dec. 1, 2025, after voters in the Show-Me state approved adding Amendment 2 to the state constitution at the ballot box in November of 2024. Missouri is the 39th state to legalize sports wagering and the 31st to allow statewide sports betting via online sportsbooks.

Read on for details on what to expect when sports betting launches, including which Missouri sportsbooks will likely be available in the state. We’ll also cover how to choose a sports betting platform, how to register for a new account, expected sign-up bonuses, and everything else you need to know to begin wagering on sports in Missouri on Day 1.

Best Missouri betting apps expected on launch day

Along with finalizing rules and regulations, the Missouri Gaming Commission is tasked with awarding sports betting licenses. Missouri’s 13 casinos and six top professional sports teams may apply for licenses to operate in-person retail sportsbooks and partner with an operator to offer statewide online sports wagering via mobile betting apps. Two direct mobile licenses will be available to operators not tied to a casino or team.

Missouri sports betting licenses are still being processed, but we have a good sense of which top sportsbooks will be coming to the state based on casino and sports team affiliations, public statements by operators and their actions in other states.

Here is a look at which Missouri sportsbooks will likely be available come launch day and what to expect from them. That includes what type of welcome bonus each operator might offer, based on their offerings in other states. But keep in mind that many sportsbooks increase their new-user bonuses in newly launched states in order to attract new customers.

FanDuel Sportsbook MissouriFanDuel shield logo

FanDuel is the biggest sportsbook operator nationwide in terms of market share and revenue. The company announced its intention to enter the Missouri market during a March corporate earnings call. FanDuel has a partnership with Boyd Gaming, which operates Ameristar Casino Kansas City and Ameristar Casino St. Charles, or it could enter the Missouri market as one of the two direct mobile licensees.

Some of the reasons users love FanDuel include:

  • Fast and user-friendly interface makes navigation and live betting a breeze.
  • Huge array of betting markets that includes all popular major U.S. sports but also international sports and niche markets like table tennis, snooker and surfing.
  • SGP+ features lets users quickly and easily combine multiple bets for a potential big payout.

Expected FanDuel Missouri welcome bonus: Bet $5 and get $200 in bonus bets.

Bet365 Sportsbook MissouriBet365 NJ

British-based bet365 has made major inroads in the U.S. by strategically launching in states that have newly legalized sports betting. In Spring of 2025, the St. Louis Cardinals announced that bet365 signed on to be the team’s official mobile sports betting partner. That means the bet365 sportsbook will most likely enter the Missouri market via the Cardinals’ license.

Standout bet365 features include:

  • Vast betting catalog that includes numerous foreign markets, thanks to the sportsbook’s global reach.
  • Game livestreams for several sports, which leads to a great live betting platform.
  • An array of odds, parlay and profit boosts daily, which can increase a player’s payouts if they win.

Expected bet365 Missouri welcome bonus: $150 in bonus bets when they bet $5 (win or lose).

BetMGM Sportsbook MissouriBetMGM sports

MGM is one of the biggest gambling companies in the world and its BetMGM sportsbook is available in over 20 states. BetMGM became the Kansas City Chiefs’ official sports betting partner in 2022, making its entry into Missouri a safe bet.

Some of the top reasons sports bettors like BetMGM include:

  • BetMGM’s loyalty rewards program is top-notch, with points earned with every wager. It’s integrated with MGM Rewards, meaning points earned through the sportsbook can also be redeemed for credits and other perks at the company’s casinos and hotels.
  • “Edit My Bet” feature lets users add, change or delete certain wagers after placing it, up until game time.
  • Simple and intuitive interface is great for new bettors.

Expected BetMGM Missouri welcome bonus: If a new user’s first bet loses, BetMGM will refund the initial stake (up to $1,500).

Fanatics Sportsbook Missouri

The sports betting branch of the popular Fanatics sports apparel and merchandise company, Fanatics Sportsbook has been aggressively launching in new states since its inception in 2023. The sportsbook has partnered with sports teams and casinos for market access in other states and is currently available in Missouri border states like Kansas, Iowa and Illinois.

Aspects of Fanatics Sportsbook that players enjoy include:

  • Users earn FanCash with every bet, which can be used at Fanatics’ sports merchandise store or as a bet credit.
  • Ongoing promotions include daily odds boosts, FanCash drops and personalized bonuses tailored to your betting habits.
  • Streams NFL games live, which is great for live, in-game betting.

Expected Fanatics Missouri welcome bonus: Get your stake back as a bonus bet if your first daily bet loses (up to $100), for up to 10 consecutive days.

Caesars Sportsbook MissouriCaesars Palace logo

Caesars Entertainment operates three casinos in the Show-Me State: Horseshoe St. Louis, Harrah’s Kansas City, and Isle of Capri Casino Boonville. While Caesars helped fund the opposition campaign against Amendment 2 in Missouri, Caesars Sportsbook is still expected to seek a license to operate mobile sports betting in the state, likely in partnership with one of its casinos.

Aspects of Caesars Sportsbook that users love include:

  • Players can earn Caesars Rewards with every qualifying wager, which can be used for bonus bets at the sportsbook or redeemed for discounts and perks at Caesars casino properties.
  • The sportsbook has many tools to assist with live betting, including a live game tracker that provides up-to-the-second stat updates and game live streams.
  • Highly competitive odds that often top lines available at its competitors.

Expected Caesars Missouri welcome bonus: Bet $1 to double the winnings on your next 10 wagers.

DraftKings Sportsbook MissouriDraftKings Casino Logo

DraftKings is the most widely available sportsbook in the U.S., live in 26 states, and is second only to FanDuel in terms of market share and revenue. DraftKings often partners with casinos for market access, but it could also enter the Missouri market with one of the unaffiliated direct mobile licenses.

Some of the best features of DraftKings include:

  • DraftKings’ highly-rated mobile app features an intuitive, extremely user-friendly interface.
  • Offers some of the best daily promotions for existing customers in the industry, including SGP boosts, profit boosts, sport- and event-specific bonuses and contests with huge prize pools.
  • App integrates seamlessly with DraftKings’ fantasy sports app, which is already licensed and legal in Missouri.

Expected DraftKings Missouri welcome bonus: Bet $5 and get $300 in bonus bets.

BetRivers Sportsbook MissouriBetRivers Logo

Executives from Rush Street Interactive, BetRivers’ parent company, have already talked about plans to enter the Missouri sports betting market due its large population and robust sports culture. Rush Street has a strategic partnership with PENN Entertainment, which helped BetRivers gain market access in states like Ohio. PENN operates the Hollywood Casino in St. Louis, but it could partner with PENN’s ESPN Bet instead, leaving Rush Street to pursue a different means to access the Missouri mobile sports betting market.

Elements of BetRivers Sportsbook that bettors like include:

  • BetRivers offers competitive odds, particularly with its futures markets.
  • With every bet, the BetRivers loyalty program, iRush Rewards, lets users climb to higher reward tiers, with bigger and better perks.
  • Dedication to responsible gaming includes built-in tools that allow players to set time, spending, wagering and deposit limits.

Expected BetRivers Missouri welcome bonus: If your first bet loses, BetRivers will refund your stake as a bonus bet (up to $500).

How I choose a sportsbook app

Finding a mobile sportsbook involves trying a few out to see which ones best suit your needs. There are a number of factors I like to consider, from which sportsbooks are easiest to use to which apps feature a fast deposit and withdrawal process.

Here are some things I look for when searching for a sportsbook:

  • Reputation: Before choosing a sportsbook, it’s good to do a little research. Several sportsbooks come from companies with a long, respected history in gambling (like casino corporations), while others have built up reputations for being reliable in their operations in other markets. Consider looking at sportsbook reviews from respected outlets (like PlayUSA) and even take a look at social media posts, which might illuminate problems users have had. For me, I only need to do this now for a new online sportsbook. But certainly, when I started betting online, I read up on all apps before I downloaded any of them.
  • User-friendly interface: Many top online sportsbooks are easy to use, even for a beginner, but not all are. I look for apps that are simple to navigate, allowing quick access to the different types of markets, the latest promotions and my account profile and wallet. Speed is also important, especially if I want to participate in live, in-game betting. Find sportsbooks that offer live stat and score updates and have pages that load quickly.
  • Number of betting markets: Check to see exactly which markets are available at each sportsbook you’re thinking of signing up for. New and casual sports bettors will likely stick to the major U.S. sports, but others may have interests in things like international soccer or tennis. It can also be fun (and sometimes rewarding, I can say from personal experience) to find niche markets to bet on.
  • Banking: Most sportsbooks want their banking processes to be quick and easy, with as little friction as possible. Make sure that your preferred banking method is accepted. Most operators allow debit/credit cards and online banking for deposits, with bank transfers usually available for withdrawals. But I prefer to use PayPal, Venmo or other e-wallets because I find them the fastest for withdrawals. Therefore, before I make an account at a new sportsbook, I always double check to make sure these are offered. Also, I look around to see which operators offer fast payouts. Most will deliver your winnings within 24 hours, but many are much faster. For example, BetRivers offers RushPay, which means that around 80% of bettors’ withdrawal requests are processed immediately.
  • Customer service: If you end up having any issues or just need an answer to a general question, most top sportsbooks offer customer support via live chat, email or phone. But I like to look online for what others are saying about a sportsbook’s customer support. If there are limited ways to contact an agent or if an operator has a reputation for unhelpful support, I steer clear.
  • Promotions: Welcome bonuses are usually generous, but what about after you’ve signed up? I check each sportsbook to see what kind of ongoing promotions are offered. Some have more (and more consistent) offers available for existing users.

Best alternatives to online sports betting apps in Missouri before launch

Ahead of the Dec. 1 real-money sportsbook launch, Missouri sports fans do have a few other iGaming options. Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) was legalized in Missouri in 2016 and there are several sites/apps available in the state that are licensed and regulated by the Missouri Gaming Commission. There are also some social sportsbooks available in Missouri, which offer sportsbook-like betting with virtual currency.

Below is a look at some sportsbook alternatives that have apps available for Missouri players:

Should I download the app of an offshore sportsbook?

I would absolutely not recommend this. Using illegal, offshore sportsbooks can open you up to fraud, like financial or identity theft, and you’ll have no legal recourse if you are scammed. You also risk exposure to viruses and malware.

It is very important that users in Missouri only use sports betting apps that are licensed by the Missouri Gaming Commision, which ensures that all legal sportsbooks adhere to consumer protection measures and other regulations. I know that it’s hard to wait, but in the meantime, I would suggest DFS and social sportsbook platforms.

How to download Missouri sports betting apps and start using them

All of the top sportsbooks that are looking to come to Missouri are usable via a website and through a downloadable app available for Android and Apple users. To find an app, just search the sportsbook’s name in the App Store or on Google Play. Once you’ve found the app on your desired marketplace, click download and you should be ready to begin registration within about a minute. For example, here is what you will find if you search for FanDuel in the Google Play store.

A screenshot of FanDuel Sportsbook in the Google Play store

Then it’s time to sign up for a sportsbook account. You’ll first be asked to provide some personal information so that the sportsbook can verify your identity to make sure you are of legal age (it’s 21 or older in Missouri) and that you are who you say you are. You’ll need to provide your legal name, address and phone number and could be asked for other details, like the last four digits of your social security number. Some sportsbooks will also ask you to upload an image of your government-issued photo ID. If you are claiming a welcome offer that requires a bonus code, you will be prompted to enter it during initial registration.

Once verified, you will want to fund your account. Many sportsbook apps will prominently feature a “deposit” button on their homepage. Click it, then choose an amount to deposit and your preferred banking method. All online sportsbooks require a minimum deposit, but that can be as little as $5. If you are claiming a welcome bonus, there might be another minimum deposit, so be sure to double check the fine print so you don’t miss out. Again, let’s use the FanDuel platform as an example. Here’s the button you hit to make a deposit:

Screenshot showing deposit and withdrawal under a balance at FanDuel Casino

And here is what the actual deposit screen looks like:

Screenshot showing a player choosing a deposit method and amount at FanDuel Casino

(One caveat is that sometimes state regulators restrict certain payment methods. So it’s possible this screen will look slightly different once online sports betting launches in Missouri.)

Next, it’s time to find your first wager. Check the odds; depending on what level of risk you want to take, you can bet the favorite or, if you’re looking for a bigger payout, take the underdog or make a selection with longer odds. Enter how much money you want to wager, hit submit and then sit back and wait to see how it settles. This time, let’s use BetMGM as the sample. As you will see in the screen below, you will generally find a featured event when you log into your account (in this case, the NBA Finals), but then you can find tons of other events with just a few taps.

If you win, congrats! You can either use your winnings to make more wagers or withdraw the funds. If you choose to withdraw, visit your account wallet, choose which banking method you’d like to use, enter the amount you want paid out and then hit submit.

When will you be able to bet on sports in Missouri?

The Missouri Gaming Commission has confirmed that sports betting will launch in the state on Dec. 1. The MGC is accepting license applications, after which they must be vetted and approved.

Missouri lawmakers have been attempting to pass legislation legalizing sports betting since 2018. In 2024, enough signatures were collected to put sports betting on the November ballot. Voters narrowly approved adding Amendment 2 to the state constitution, passing it with just 50.05% of the votes.

While the MGC is also tasked with finalizing sports betting rules and regulations, Amendment 2 lays out much of the basic framework. It states that you must be at least 21 to use a Missouri sportsbook and must be physically located within the state to place a bet, which mobile sportsbook operators must confirm using geolocation technology.

Amendment 2 states that Missouri bettors will be able to wager on game outcomes, team performance and individual athletic performances. Any restrictions on allowable sports betting markets are still being hammered out by the MGC. But one restriction is included in Amendment 2. The amendment states that college player prop bets are prohibited when one of the teams playing is from an in-state school. Bets on youth or high school sporting events are also prohibited.

FAQ about Missouri sports betting apps

No. The Missouri Gaming Commission initially designated an emergency rules process to speed things up and had hoped the launch would take place in June 2025. But Secretary of State Denny Hoskins denied the emergency rules declaration. The new target date, Dec. 1, is as late as the launch could take place, according to Amendment 2.

Not yet. But on Dec. 1, people in Missouri will be able to bet on a wide range of NFL betting markets, just days before the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 14. Bettors will be able to make NFL moneyline bets and wager on point spreads and point totals. Player, team and game prop bets will also be available. Sportsbook users will also be able to bet on futures, like who will win conference championship games and the Super Bowl.

Yes, each of the state’s casinos that receive a mobile sports betting license will also have a license to operate a retail sportsbook on its premises. Likewise, the state’s pro sports teams are eligible to receive a license to operate a retail sportsbook at or near their playing facilities.

Missouri’s 13 casinos and six professional sports franchises are eligible to receive mobile sports betting licences, and there are two mobile-only licenses available, meaning there could potentially be 21 online sportsbooks available in the state. But there’s a good chance that not every land-based entity will apply for or receive a license, so there will likely be less than 21.

No, Missouri is the only state that will launch sports betting in 2025. A few states attempted to pass legislation legalizing sports betting in 2024 and 2025, but their efforts failed. The last state to legalize sports betting before Missouri was North Carolina in 2023.

No. While some states have approved both iCasinos and online sports betting, there has been no substantial effort to legalize real-money online casinos in Missouri yet.

However, there are several sweepstakes and social casinos available in the state, which use virtual currency and offer opportunities to win prizes.
